Jon founded eBags.com in 1998, raised $30 million from angels and top VC firms, and remained it's CEO until 2008, overseeing eBags as it grew profitably during his last eight years at a 34% compound annual growth rate. Over those years, eBags shipped nearly 10 million bags, maintained a solid negative cash conversion cycle, and accumulated 1.4 million consumer-written product reviews, while operating commerce sites in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany and Japan. Today, Jon is CEO of UsingMiles.com, a young startup, which helps consumers organize 10 trillion unspent loyalty points (second currencies), then showcase unique ways for shoppers to earn and spend them.
Jon loves startups and the entrepreneurs who launch them. After being chosen by Ernst & Young as Entrepreneur of the Year for the Rocky Mountain Region, and after receiving the Colorado Technology Association's Lifetime Achievement Award, Jon established the Colorado chapter of Founder Institute which, in the past two years, has graduated about 20 new companies. Jon earned a BS in business, magna cum laude, from Boulder's University of Colorado.
