In this master class, John Gower and David Maher Roberts will talk about how entrepreneurs can build a successful and revenue-generating business by using product and commercial innovation to disrupt existing markets.
The talk is in two parts:
Part one will focus on how startups have disrupted and displaced large businesses in established markets over the last 30 years. This will be illustrated by looking at a number of case studies and by analysing what the case studies have in common. The key principles of disruptive innovation (coined by Clay Christensen) will be revealed and explained.
Part two looks at how entrepreneurs need to innovate and disrupt not only in terms of their product strategy, but also in terms of their commercial strategy. Generating revenue is key to building a successful business and therefore it is essential to look for innovative ways of generating revenue to turn an idea into a real business.
